Meeting people safely

Most people on Waypal are just travellers looking for company. These habits keep it that way.

What Waypal does

• 18+ only. Age is checked at sign-up.
• No exact locations. Other people only see a distance rounded to 0.5 km, never where you are.
• Women-only plans. Women can host plans that only women see and join.
• Report and block in one tap. Blocking hides you from each other everywhere in the app. The other person isn't told.
• A human reviews reports and bans accounts that break our rules.

Before you go

• Meet in busy, public places: a restaurant, bar, market or popular sight. Not a private home or hotel room.
• Keep the conversation in the Waypal chat until you're comfortable, so you can report it if something goes wrong.
• Tell a friend where you're going and who with.
• Look at the person's profile. Blank profiles and brand-new accounts deserve more caution.

When you're there

• Get yourself there and back. Don't depend on someone you just met for a ride.
• Watch your drink and know your limits.
• Never send money to someone you met on Waypal.
• Trust your gut. You can leave at any time, and you don't owe anyone an explanation.
